By Air: All airlines have the service from Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati to Bagdogra. From bagdogra airport one can take a taxi to the SMIT campus at Majitar, Rangpo. The drive takes about three hours to Majitar and four hours to Gangtok.

 

By Train: One can travel by train from any part of the country to New jalpaiguri (NJP). From there the SMIT is three hours and Gangtok is four hours by taxi. Bus facility also available from SNT Bus stand situated at Siliguri which is very nearby to NJP railway station.

 

By Road: Long distance buses ply from major towns in West Bengal and Assam to Siliguri. National Highway 31A and National Highway 31 link Siliguri to Gangtok. The journey from Siliguri to the campus can be made by taxi or bus.  Sikkim National Transport (SNT) runs bus services from Siliguri to Gangtok.
